Versions
Starting in April 2023, the version numbering scheme is V.MM, where V is the major version number and MM is the minor evolution number. Thus, the April 2023 release becomes 5.59.
Previously, since version 4.9.15 (01/09/2014) the numbering plan was V.M.m:
- V.M: major version related to the data structure or modifying deeply the interface
- m: minor changes
The minor version number is odd when it comes to a functional version but waiting through translations for internationalization. The number is even when the translations were integrated. The identification of the version may be supplemented by a letter to indicate the resolution of a bug that cannot wait for a later publication (eg 4.9.11a).
